EXIM Thailand-SMBC Co-sponsor "Under the Same Sky" CSR Program : Donate Roof, Scholarships and Milk Fund to Wat Mahawong Community, Phra Pradaeng
EXIM Thailand and Japan’s SMBC donate 772,100 baht to Wat Mahawong Community Daycare Center-FORDEC 6 for the construction of a metal sheet roof to cover the Center’s multi-purposed area. The donation also supports the Foundation’s Milk Fund and education programs for poor children. Dr. Apichai Boontherawara (left), President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), and Mr. Seiji Sato (right), General Manager of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Bangkok Branch, recently handed over the “Under the Same Sky” roof and donation proceeds worth 772,100 baht to Wat Mahawong Community Daycare Center-FORDEC 6. Dr. Amporn Wathanavongs (center), Executive Director, Foundation for Rehabilitation and Development of Children and Family (FORDEC), represented the Foundation at the hand over ceremony held at Wat Mahawong Community Daycare Center-FORDEC 6 in Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan.EXIM Thailand’s President said the event signified a new dimension of cooperation between EXIM Thailand and SMBC, apart from their business collaboration in different areas including financing and human resources development. The SMBC’s participation added value to EXIM Thailand’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in support of FORDEC, which have been ongoing for over 10 years. With EXIM Thailand’s donation of 332,500 baht, combined by SMBC’s contribution of 389,600 baht, a circular metal sheet roof, which was given the name “Under the Same Sky,” has finally been completed to provide sunlight and rainproof cover for children undertaking activities at the Center’s general purpose area. The donation also went to poor and homeless children under the “Milk for Hungry Children” and “Education for Children’s Future” programs for use as food allowance, funds for educational materials and related expenses, health care and other relevant activities.
