EXIM Thailand Joins Showcasing Achievement in Driving Sustainable Development at “Better Thailand Open Dialogue” Event
 
General Prayut Chan-o-cha (third right), the Prime Minister, who presided over the opening ceremony and was a special speaker to deliver a speech at a talk event titled “Better Thailand Open Dialogue” hosted by Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University Engineering Alumni, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy and Faculty of Economics of Chulalongkorn University, and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) comprising Board of Trade of Thailand, Federation of Thai Industries, and Thai Bankers’ Association visited the booth of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand) at Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon Shopping Center on May 19, 2022. EXIM Thailand exhibited the achievement of the operation of the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with EXIM Thailand to “reboot, restructure, rebalance and resynergize” sustainable development, including empowering SMEs, aka the ‘Little People’, to go global with their export businesses toward the Next Normal era. EXIM Thailand has propelled sustainable development by seeking to “reboot” industries hit by the crisis but having potential, such as airline and related businesses, in the amount of over 7,200 million baht, maritime business 8,500 million baht and steel industry; to “restructure” industries of the future and businesses conducive to Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy of Thailand with more than 40,000 million baht in support so far to BCG industries, enhancing Thai renewable energy businesses to expand globally by 51% from a year earlier, building new businesses, e.g. electric ferries, electric cars and bioplastic; to “rebalance” business efficiency with such financial innovations as Solar Orchestra and EXIM Biz Transformation Loan; and to “resynergize” with alliances in helping SMEs get through the crisis, grooming more than 14,200 SMEs as new economic warriors to combat COVID-19 involving the accumulated amount of 76,700 million baht, and building more than 1,700 brand-new exporters, a 20% growth, involving the amount of 17,600 million baht.
