Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), warmly welcomed Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, President and CEO of Government Savings Bank and Chairman of the Government Financial Institutions Association (GFA) Committee, along with top executives from six other government financial institutions, and representatives from Fiscal Policy Office (FPO), State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) and Thai Bankers’ Association, to the 4th Meeting of GFA Committee in 2023 at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office on July 12, 2023.
During the meeting, EXIM Thailand presented a collaborative project among government financial institutions aimed at enhancing opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to access funding sources and expand their exports to the global marketplace. The project, named “The S1,” involved cooperation between EXIM Thailand and the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) in the initial phase. In the subsequent phase, the collaboration was extended to two additional specialized financial institutions, namely, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank) and Islamic Bank of Thailand (ibank). This collaboration aims to develop business models that leverage technology to improve service provision and facilitate efficient and prompt financial support for SMEs, aligning with their rapidly evolving business requirements. Additionally, a project called “Halal Export 2023” was introduced, aimed at promoting Halal product exporters. This initiative involved collaboration between EXIM Thailand and ibank to support Thai entrepreneurs in the Halal industry in exporting their products to overseas markets.
