EXIM Thailand Joins Panel Discussion to Support Thai Entrepreneurs Penetrating Chinese Market
Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), took part in a discussion alongside Ms. Kulthirath Pakawachkrilers, President of the Thai E-Commerce Association (THECA), and Mr. Chaowchai Jiemvijid, Chairman, the Border Trade Group Subcommittee in Southern China, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand (BoT) on the topic 'Navigating Trade with China: A Fresh Approach' during the Dimsum (Chinese Cuisine) Talk event hosted by FM 96.5 MHz radio station and moderated by Mr. Vorapong Changchit from CEO VISION radio program. Mr. Phatiyuth Jaiswang, Acting Director-General of MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), and Mr. Sommai Suwannawong, MCOT’s Executive Vice President of the Marketing and Sales Group, welcomed the speakers and participants at Thai CC Tower, Sathorn on August 27, 2023.

Despite the slowdown in the economy of the People's Republic of China, EXIM Thailand highlights its continued expansion surpassing other major global markets. With a significant population ranking second worldwide and possessing relatively high purchasing power, the potential Thai products in the Chinese market range from food items like chicken, shrimp, squid, canned fruits, and seasonings, to daily essentials like cosmetics, travel accessories, and instruments and equipment such as audio devices and medical instruments. Additionally, numerous market prospects persist for products catering to the preferences of modern Chinese consumers. These encompass items such as cosmetics, vitamins, beauty-enhancing products targeting the SHEconomy (driven by empowered female consumers), along with dietary supplements, electric carts, and household items that fulfill the needs of the Silver Economy (focused on the elderly). In this context, EXIM Thailand stands prepared to "fill up gaps of knowledge, opportunities, and capital" to support Thai entrepreneurs in initiating or expanding their exports to foreign markets confidently and sustainably toward the Chinese market.
