Mr. Suwat Kamolpanus, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, EXIM Thailand President, Mr. Khalid Moinuddin Hashim, Managing Director of Precious Shipping Plc. (PSL) and Mr. Kirit Shah, Director of PSL, jointly celebrated the achievement of EXIM Thailand’s merchant maritime financing of 26.25 million US dollars to PSL, Thailand’s leading provider of international maritime transport services using eco-friendly vessels, to support the Company’s purchase of bulk cargo carriers and operating expenses in Bangkok on August 24, 2023.
This loan facility from EXIM Thailand aims to support Thai maritime business operators with strong growth potential in their fleet expansion and operational efficiency enhancement alongside promotion of economic development on the basis of sustainable optimization of marine and coastal resources, fostering a “Blue Economy” with the use of modern and eco-friendly fleets that would contribute to mitigation of carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption. This financing also aligns with EXIM Thailand’s policy and determination toward the goal of Green Development Bank mandated to drive economic, social and environmental growth on an inclusive and sustainable basis.
