Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), delivered a lecture on the topic “Empowering Women: Driving the Economy through Family and Community Transformation,” to women and interested individuals in more than 22 communities within the Phayathai district. The event was part of a collaboration between EXIM Thailand and the Phayathai District Office under the “EXIM Strengthening Vulnerable Women Entrepreneurs” project. This initiative aims to enhance financial literacy and business understanding for women in the community, enabling them to establish self-sustaining livelihoods for themselves and their families. The event received a warm welcome from Mr. Punlop Paitoonbuathong, Director of the Phayathai District Office, and was joined by Dr. Thongkorn Ploypetchara, Research Officer, Expert Centre of Innovation Health Food, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), who shared valuable knowledge about food preservation, processing, and packaging to add value to their products. The event took place at the Makok Temple Community Garden (Central Garden) in the Phayathai district on August 28, 2023. In addition, EXIM Thailand’s executives and staff worked alongside women and community members in a gardening activity to cultivate chili, holy basil and sweet basil as part of the “Self-sufficient Vegetable Garden Project.”
