EXIM Thailand Addresses Opportunities and Challenges for Thai Businesses in Environmental Measures while Serving as Sustainable Business Facilitator
Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), participated as a guest speaker on the topic “Net Zero Carbon Credit: Business Challenges and Opportunities” at the Road To NET ZERO Seminar organized by the Thansettakij newspaper on September 5, 2023, at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. The seminar aimed to provide knowledge and understanding to the business sector regarding current global environmental issues and the approaches of financial institutions to collaborate with all sectors in addressing the challenges of global warming and environmental impacts that affect both livelihoods and business operations.

EXIM Thailand encouraged all sectors to change their perspective on driving economic growth. Instead of solely focusing on profit or numerical wealth, they stressed the importance of measuring outcomes that take into account environmental and societal factors. In the era of new global trade regulations, particularly the stringent global environmental trade measures, totaling approximately 17,000, EXIM Thailand, as a specialized financial institution with the role of a ‘Green Development Bank,’ stands ready to support and promote sustainable national development. They function as playmakers, both in offensive and defensive strategies, to drive the sustainable development of Thai entrepreneurs, particularly SMEs with limited capital, enabling them to conduct business on the global stage sustainably.
