EXIM Thailand Support Gulf Group’s Gas-fired Power Plant Project
Mrs. Warangkana Wongkhaluang (far right), Senior Executive Vice President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi (seventh right), Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited, Mr. Yoshio Kometani (sixth right), Chief Operating Officer of Infrastructure Projects Business Unit of Mitsui & Co. (Thailand) Ltd. and executives from 11 other financial institutions recently signed loan agreement worth over 38 billion baht to co-finance the Gulf SRC Company Limited (GCRS)’s construction of a 2,650 MW Gas-fired Combined Cycle Power Plant located in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Sriracha, Chonburi province at Conrad Bangkok Hotel. Situated in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) promoted by the Thai government to cater for strategic economic expansion, the project is part of Thailand’s Power Development Plan 2015-2036 (PDP2015) in replacement of gradually expiring power plant concessions.
